Auctions and markets

HRSA Auctions are held on a regular basis by most groups.

Mini Auctions: held after most monthly meetings
Regular Auctions: three per year
Class Auctions: an auction devoted to higher quality items
Special Auction - one that is not regularly scheduled
Markets

We also have markets where you can bring along excess wares to sell.

Please note you must be a member of the society to participate in the auctions.

Sellers

All members may sell items that are relevant to the radio collecting hobby. These items include:

Radios from all periods
Radios of all styles: consoles, table, mantle, radiograms, radio cassette etc.
Valve and transistor
Test equipment: multimeters, oscilloscopes , signal generators, valve testers, etc.
Electrical tools: soldering irons, screwdrivers, small pliers, etc.
Parts: valves, valve sockets, coils, tuning capacitors, new old stock resistors, etc.

Regular and Class Auctions

Regular auctions are held at intervals set by each group.

Melbourne, for example, holds three or four auctions per year. Each auction contains up to 250 items.

Class auctions are held when there are enough high quality radios worth auctioning. This maybe once every 1-2 years, and at events such as RadioFest.

Each group will have rules regarding the quality and quantity of items for the auction.

A premium may apply to sellers.

Mini Auctions

Mini auctions are generally held at meetings.

Groups have rules pertaining to the number of items that may be submitted at each meeting.

Special Auctions

Occasionally groups hold special auctions. These might be for a deceased estate where a very large collection is to be sold.

Markets

Groups may provide tables to sell your wares. These are generally things that would not normally be auctioned because of condition or perceived value. Examples include:

Radios with badly damaged cabinets
Rare parts from chassis to coils
Valve and transistor from scraped radios etc.
Test equipment: multimeters, oscilloscopes , signal generators, valve testers, etc.
Electrical tools: soldering irons, screwdrivers, small pliers, etc.
Parts: valves, valve sockets, coils, tuning capacitors, new old stock resistors, etc.
